so I usually make videos about maps and international stuff but as you all can see lately i've been diving into all sorts of different topics (NFTs, icecream makers, shampoo). The reality is that I make my videos based on what is genuinely fascinating me at any moment. I'm glad you are all here along with me on this wild ride of trying to understand how things work. lots more stuff to come! -Johnny

SAME!!! I rinse really good with just water and use 25% diluted Apple Cidar Vinegar in a spray bottle. I use it to condition and my hair and maintain the PH balance and it has been amazing for years and years. Always had skin and scalp conditions before that.

Better Help is in the scare business too, make no mistake about that. They want you to feel not 100% yourself and make your molehills into mountains so you'll use their business. It's their goal to make sure as many people are in therapy as they can get, regardless of the fact that probably 90% of them, just like shampoo, don't need it.

can second this. I realized while underway on a submarine (we can't shower every day) that my hair didn't really need all that much washing. since getting out, I've grown my hair back to about 1 foot or more, and I only shampoo/condition about once every 1 to 2 weeks, and just rinse it each day.

The no 1 reason for hair damage by shampoos is the sulphate content in it.. Sulphates make the soapy foam coming from the shampoos, the same sulphate is used in detergents and in some amounts in toothpastes.. Believe me once i stopped using regular shampoos, my hair falls less, its even less greasy than how it used to be after every 2 days of shampooing. I use dove soap instead.. Or a sulphate free shampoo if i have to go to a party or a major event... We can also use soapnuts as well and all this natural organic stuff.. Works wonders..

My girlfriend used to wash her face all the time (same concepts as shampoo / conditioner) and she had really bad acne. She kept trying products but nothing ever really worked until she decided to stop washing her face all the time or using all those products. Only time she washes her face is when she takes a shower. Her acnes is pretty much gone. I had this happen with me in high school too but I eventually just stopped and only lightly washed my face when I took showers and my acne went away in the same way. As for hair I shower every other day unless I'm really dirty or if I need one (my hair is usually good for 2 to 2.5 or 3 days before it feels oily and I wash it

I think the main point to takw away from this is something akin to my own experience growing my beard out about 5 years ago. I just started experimenting in all sorts of ways with what would suit my hair and beard the most. I'm pretty confident, and as you conclude yourself, there is no one solution that works for everyone. But I started my yuth with the the nornal "wash your hair -condition-styling product-everyday" and after trying a ton of stuff I wound up with something quite close to my beard routine. Not the same products, they are each meant for hair or beard respectively. The main thing that changed was that my hair washing cycle dropped to twice a week. Still shower atleast once a day though. And my beard generally gets once or twice a week. But one important thing for me was that I use a really mild shampoo that is really gentle on the the ectuall removing on oils and mostly helps get other things like pollen and dead skin, and I use a scalp scrape. its this little cheap thing u can get off ebay or wherever that else like it, that kinda shapes around yourr head and face and have like a 100 small "pins" that help remove loose dead skin fron both my scalp and under my beard. And it means I can go alot easier on the beard hairs themself. When it came to the regimen itself, in short, its light shampoo, and then I use a simple oil based cream that gets aplied to the scalp more than my hear an use the saem scrape and rinse. Beard gets a different light shampoo and a simple oil I leave in while doing the rest of my body wasing. Rinse most of the beard oil out or it gets too much within a few hours after getting trough the day, with natural production adding on, just as you said for your hair. Dry, and apply a really small, like a half a littlefinger nail worth of this leave in conditioner, just because I like how it feels and smells, but it is not silicone based, its purely oil based. Some balm and a lil dryer shaping of the beard and im good to go. TLDR: I started the same way as J described in my youth. Tryed everything under the sun, have real thick hear and with it a dry scalp issue. Did alot of his mistakes until I landed on what works for me. In short: Head washed twice a week with super mild shampoo that hardly reamoves oils but helps get pollen and dead skin, moist scalp with seperate products, and some tiny bit of oil based leave in conditioner when its all dry. Beard once to twice a week with light shampoo, meant for beards. neutral oil left in while doing rest ofthe body washing and then rince hair, not roots. Apply some b-balm and dryer to hape, and done. What I learnt though, was for me two points of main change stood out. Wash less, and use better products with no silicone. Silicone in hair and beard prdocts is the biggest scam. It usually wont aply any moisture, but make yout hair coted to be shine but also brittle. Sorry for the wall of text and no f's given for proofreading, its my 3rd language anyhow. But appologies to your brain for having to deal with it. Have a good one. Edit: Ohh yeah, and climate might have a lot to do with these things, and as referenced by my polar bear avatar, I live north ofthe Artic circle. Do with that info as you wish...

Same with soap on ur body, i still use shampoo cuz of insane amounts of oil and flakes, but the only parts of my body that actively sees soap is my head, mild soap for my beard and face, then my armpits hands, feet, and finally private bits in front and they're unsavory neighbor in the back :) doing this for over a year now no issues with my skin that doesn't get "cleaned". Imma gradually quit shampooing aswell now and test it out.

I was bullied in school because i only washed my hair once a week. That's how my parents taught me and i also attended dance classes where we were expected to not wash our hair for a week before performances that were very frequent. I was also bullied bc i didn't want to wear bra for my A-cup tiddies and also bc i didn't want to trim my eyebrows and shave my legs. As i grew up i got in the line of society but i really wish these weren't so mandatory... Now i trim my eyebrows (i like doing it and wearing it a certain way) but i HATE shaving my legs and wearing bra. Society sould really take a step back out of our @sses.

I haven't used shampoo on my hair since this video was posted. I've always had severe dandruff and it's almost gone. I'll often rinse a little water through it, but not much. Years ago my hair would get very oily and smell strange within 3 days. But I haven't had that experience at all this time around. The water rinses might have helped with some of that. It feels fine and I have no issues with it. Seems legit to me.

I really appreciate you clearing up the confusuion around the motives behind the Iraqi invasion by the Bush administration. The oil motive or the WMD motive never made sense to me. However there is another point of confusio regarding US' foreign policy regarding the middle east, specifically the motives of US backing israel unconditionally. Could you explain why US is so supportive of Israel despite it being widely considered being an apartheid state who has no regard of any international or humanitairian law? Are we witnessing another dark page of US history written in front of us?

Tip: use raw apple cider vinegar on your hair, it helps with the oil and how long you can go without washing your hair. Sulfates in shampoo will also dry the hell out of your hair and then your scalp produces more oil. I find that dyeing my hair helps with how long I can go without washing. Getting a shower filter will also help, I have a ton of chlorine in my water.

The sodium laureth sulfate / SLS (detergent) in shampoo is its biggest problem. since 2013 I have abandoned shampoo that contains SLS and replaced it with shampoo without SLS. Even then, I rarely wash my hair with shampoo, most often only 2x a week. And yes, my hair becomes amazing. I also want to leave the shampoo completely behind, but I have to clean my hair from any remnants of hair styling products such as gel/mousse that I use. Then don't you use product styling at all? tell me what hair styling product do you use? So that I too can leave out the shampoo.

I think you just answered a Biblical question I had. I read in the Bible about putting oil on ones head to appear healthy (it was a passage about fasting). I used to think... "what?! Oil on your head? Why?!" and you just answered that. I question quite a bit of what we have been taught in our lives. You may want to question the idea that touching people spreads viruses... or even if viruses are a real thing. Look up "exosomes" sometime. But that's another topic.
